In the world space which we are today, we must have in one way or the other help others, most times it happen without us knowing that this is what is occurring. Volunteer work or service is what we do in our day to day activities. When you hear volunteer service or work many people think, it is only when a group of people comes together to carry out a particular service without getting anything in return, no it's not just that, just one person can also preform a volunteering service to an individual, a group of people or best still to a community. Just like my line to study, in medical Profession we do alot of volunteering service, sometimes as an organization, most from (WHO) World Health Organization.
In my medical profession and practice, we engage in free medical checkup as a way of helping the less privilege to get proper medical check up and treatment. Just like the last one we concluded in a community in Ohafia, Amaogudo Abiriba to be precise. There's no government medical facility over there, the few hospital are private and most of the community members are not able to afford the cause of medical bills. However we noticed that the people over there are at high risk of eye defects, bone defects and lack of medical knowledge total. So we planned for Free medical checkup to the community.
I have many times involving volunteering work and services, I see it as a way of expressing my help towards others who cannot afford it at the moment. Even in our various community we see people coming together to carry out a particular Project for the community. However I will say that volunteering work is that which one or individual does to others without expecting anything or without being asked to do. There was a time age group in my community decided to create a two different born hole water in my community, it was also a volunteer service to the community, up till now the born hole water is still serving the general community.. Same with other age group, they come with different projects ideas that will benefit the people of the community and they carry it out without Been asked to or looking for anything in return.

Personally, while in school especially during my 200 level in nursing school, I always host lectures for students especially the newbies who just gain admission, I coach them, teach them after Normal school hours and then 90% of my students then always pass the PTS Examination. During this period Students don't pay me and I never asked for money from them. That was my way of doing my volunteering service to the society with what I have. Even as of now, I still teach newbies and the results is always better then the expectations.
In conclusion, volunteering service is one thing everyone can do, no matter how little it may look like, there are people or persons out there that it will change their life and living for better.
