The direction education is going to in this our generation is in a technology inclined way, which everyone needs to be computer literate because almost everything we do we come in touch or in contacts with a computer or other kind of technology. No checking on two side of it if students are supposed to allow to use phones and laptops in school even situations like Examination or test, including using AI capacity, asking this question with this be cool to them or make things worst is a two-way thing that need to be balanced. As we all know using a phone has its good side and as well its negative side. I will be pointing out below some advantage and also disadvantage of allowing students to use phone in school especially during tests and classes.
Allowing students to use phones in school is of advantage to students when it gets to research, doing some assignments etc. in the generation which we are today almost everything can be found in the internet "Life made easy". There are series of things a teacher or a lecturer will not be able to teach you in class most of the times you learn by researching on your own. It is difficult to cope more especially here in high institution without a smartphone or a laptop some lecturers or lecture notes are sent online people who read from phone do read from phone and people who write from phone also write from phone to their book sometimes this lecturers or teacher do print their hardcopy handouts. Nevertheless, as it is important and necessary to use or allow students to use phone it is not advisable to use it while in classes.
There is time for everything time to research time to browse time to study on your own and time to learn from the lecturer or teacher, when students use phone in classes and while writing test, there is no need of writing the test. I believe that test is to check the ability of understanding or the rate of understanding. Students can be allowed to use phone but not while in class and while writing test, even sometimes AI capacity writing are even confusing if you cannot understand the layman explanation. There are some disadvantages of allowing a student to use phone in school which I will stay in some below.
Allowing students use phone in school especially during classes and test has a lot of disadvantage is to the individual or students in particular. One of these disadvantage is: lack of seriousness. When you allow students to use phone during classes and test it will make those students not to be serious at all with their studies because the generation which we are today you can access anything you want with internet. So that we made them to rely on their phone and not understanding the origin of what is being taught. Second, search school will end up training and graduating students who only depend on internet to carry out what they are being taught. For example, imagine a medical students using phone during tests and exams after graduating with they still use phone to attend to patients would they still useful during operations such as the medical doctors who conducts operation on patients. You see it cannot be of great advantage to the individual anti the school at large.
In conclusion, students are not supposed to be allowed to use phone in school especially when it gets to do with classes and test talk more of using Assisted AI (Artificial intelligence) for it is important to understand the origin of what you have been taught, that will students will be able to try out their own human intelligence than AI.
