He left the four corners of Wembley Stadium for the field of Bernabeu. Even then, I kept cheering him on, yelling "Hala Madrid" for every goal he and his teammates scored. He scored the most beautiful goals there. Everyone thought he would end his career in Real Madrid as he was doing well, winning personal and club awards. We all wanted him to stay there, but for the best reasons, he left to explore and achieve greater things. At first, I was skeptical about this move. "Would his career take a negative turn now that he has left the biggest club in the world? Will this be the end?” These questions popped into my mind. But lo and behold, he left for Juventus, the field of Turin. And just when everyone thought his career was all over, he proved them wrong. I have been a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo for as long as I can remember, cheering him all the way since he started his football journey. He is my role model, my inspiration, and my favorite celebrity.
There has been a long-standing rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and the Barcelona legend, Lionel Messi. When it comes to football, we all have our favorite players and preferences. While others are of the school of thought that Lionel Messi is the greatest football player in the world, I and many others will always support Cristiano till the end. I have backed him since his debut match at Manchester United; why would I stop now? You are free to argue that Lionel Messi is a better player and that he is the greatest of all time. As I mentioned, we all have different takes. But don't you ever open your lopsided mouth and say that Cristiano is not a good footballer or that he is a finished player. History proves otherwise and I know he'll keep proving haters wrong.
If there's one celebrity I could talk about all day without getting tired or one that I know everything about because of how much I love them, it would definitely be Cristiano Ronaldo. Actually, I'm not enthusiastic about other celebrities. I don't go around defending them like I defend Ronaldo. Ronaldo holds a special place in my life. I can't count the number of times that I have gotten into heated arguments defending Ronaldo. One thing about guys is that they will always argue when it comes to football. The Ronaldo-Messi rivalry has been in place for years and yes, I enjoy defending him. Throughout my secondary school years, I stood up for him. I remember one time that I got into a heated argument with Messi fans. Unfortunately, I was the only Ronaldo fan there at that time, so they were at an advantage. Still, I did not back down. Instead, hit them with strong points, raising my voice to add to dramatic tension. The argument lasted an hour until the teacher came into the class.
There's no place where I won’t defend and brag about how much I love Cristiano Ronaldo. I defend on Discord him when the chicken fan like @b0s and others say trash about him. B0S even calls him a camel. Whereas, his goat is a chicken. A short one at that. To show how much I love him, I have blogged about him on Hive and outside Hive several times. I remember the first time I created a Facebook account. I was in high school at that time. The first picture I ever used as my profile picture was Ronaldo’s. Interestingly, for years, I never used any other picture as my Facebook profile picture until I played truth or dare with a friend and I was dared to change my profile picture to Messi's picture and leave it that way for one week. Those seven days were brutal for me. I struggled to even look at my DP. That was the first and only time I ever changed it.
My secondary school crush once told me that I was obsessed with Cristiano Ronaldo. Perhaps I was doing too much then. I designed my Jerseys, books, and even my table with Ronaldo's name. I even changed my nickname to Ronaldo Junior. The straw that broke the camel's back happened when my crush asked me who I would choose between her and Ronaldo and I bluntly replied “Ronaldo”. That was the end of our “thing.” My plan to have babies with her got crushed.
Cristiano Ronaldo has impacted my life greatly. His career and lifestyle inspire people to do good and achieve great things. He doesn't have tattoos, unlike other footballers. This is because he is a frequent blood donor. Also, he regularly donates to orphanages and charity groups. I remember during the Covid 19 period, he accommodated COVID patients in his hospital and treated them for free. He inspires me to do good and help people. Cristiano Ronaldo was born into a poor background. Today, he is the greatest footballer of all time and also one of the richest footballers. This screams; no matter where you come from, don't give up on your dreams.
