Staying Connected To My Holiday Priorities.

in Hive Learners11 months ago

A lot of things happen during the holiday and we have different purposes for always looking forward to it. Whenever the word holiday pops up, what comes to my mind are family, friends and lots of rest time. We live in a very busy world where we barely have enough time to do other things after going out there in search of our daily bread, the hustle out there is real and time-consuming for some humans. I have listened to different motivational speakers about time management and what many of them fail to see is that life is not the same for everyone.

We are exposed to more opportunities than one another and it takes some people to give more than usual just to survive. I met a man some years ago at one of the Guinness warehouses back then while job hunting and he told me clearly that he does two jobs. He works in the factory during the day and works as a security at night, how do you teach time management to such a person?

Let me not digress too much from the topic and I hope you will agree with me that the man holiday priorities would be different from someone who spends less time working and earns a huge salary.

After all the stress of switching between jobs, the few hours left for many people in a day is what we spend on our mental and physical health so we practically don't have much time until the holiday pops up.

As I mentioned earlier, what the holiday means to every human is different and one thing I have done so far during this holiday is spending quality time with my family. I said in one of my posts that we have a lot of catching to do as a family and that's what we have done exactly.

We are a small family of five and our holiday goals are the same for now. My mom for instance is an evangelist who doesn't take her duties lightly, she is always on the move with her church's evangelical team preaching the gospel. Due to moving around cities and states, we don't spend much time together until the holiday comes. She definitely comes home to rest and we don't disturb her rest time but during the holiday, she gets to rest and also spend quality time with her children. I don't get tired of listening to her experience out there and she never gets tired of sharing them.

Two of my siblings are students and it's all about studies for them. They leave home very early in the morning and return in the evening to do assignments or research, we spend time together but not as much as during the holiday when they don't have to worry about sleeping early just to wake up early the next day, no assignments and bonding is what we do.

My immediate brother always said he is at the stage of acquiring knowledge and if busy was a person, the name would have been perfect for him. He is learning multiple things at a time and videography is one of them, that job particularly makes him spend a lot of time away. Despite his busy schedule, he doesn't joke about holidays because he knows that it is the time we have to be together.

We all communicate but it's not like spending time with each other physically. So far this holiday, we have been catching up with one another and it has been a lot of fun for us even though we spend more time indoor than outdoor.

Cooking together, seeing movies, and creating our goal as a family for the coming year are among the things we have done and there are still more activities on our list before the year runs out completely. All of these might not mean much to people who have an opposite purpose for the holiday. It could be travelling for some, it could be partying and what matters most is doing what we think is best and enjoyable for us this holiday.

Spending time with family is something great. After everyone had gone to their different busy schedules, holidays aren't something to joke with as it is that time to bond with family, catch up with missing talks etc. I love to spend my holiday in the best and advantageous way and not excluding my family out of it.

You are right my princess, holidays aren't a time to joke because it's a valuable moment to create memories and bond together.

Family sit on top of my holiday list, I am sure you are having a good time with your family as well.

Yes, I am having a wonderful time with them. Thank you.

Cherishing family time during the holiday, creating memories through bonding, cooking, and setting goals. Enjoying the meaningful moments shared in this festive season.

Yeah, you said it all. The holiday doesn't have to be loud and stressful before we enjoy it as we should.

I love that family time and it means a lot to me

The times spent with family and friends are memorable in our memories. Eating, drinking, cooking and chatting together are different fun. You are right that everyone's life is not the same and time management is very important to move forward in life. Thank you always be good.

Thanks man, I am glad you took the time to read the article thoroughly. Life is not the same for all of us and we just have to ensure that we do what's best for us without hurting other people.

you are right. you are most welcome my dear friend

Compliment of the season bro..
Coming together during the holidays refreshes the bond between members of the family and it is so nice that that is your priority for the holiday... Keep enjoying and stay safe..

That's right, the coming together of family members helps improve the bond between them
..

Interesting!
We all have what comes to mind with the word holiday. That really makes sense to me.
I love the part that everyone takes the holiday season seriously as a time to relax and catch-up with other members of the family. That is very good.
Merry Christmas to you and your family members. Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks sis, we all have our priorities for the holiday. Family, rest and many other things are worth considering.

Yes, they are.

I'm glad that despite your entire family busy schedule you all still set aside holiday period to spend time with each other and catch up. Though daily activities might be so demanding knowing how difficult it is to survive and make a living these days but we shouldn't allow it affect spending quality time with our family. That is the lesson I have learnt from this post you shared.

I love the catching up with you and your family together with the quality time you are spending with mum...I tell you it's the same for me...I haven't stepped out a bit.. just resting, dancing with the kids and hubby . watching football ⚽ , it's been fun ..we plan to visit places from next tommorw though
