It's a beautiful moment and I am super excited to share on this second edition of the weekly prompts. This coincidentally happened to be one of the significant time in my dear life. I don't really joke with the month of April because my birthday and wedding anniversary is encapsulated in this beautiful season.
Every 17th day of April reminds me of the date and time I was released to the earth realm. I wouldn't want to share more details but hopefully I will drop my brief in one of the post soon. This day remains remarkable for me because it's my birthday. I wish I could bake a hard copy cake and distribute to every participant on this platform however I may be able to send soft copies across meanwhile manage this 🎂🍰🎂 don't salivate oooo because I know you would enjoyed it very well.
The topic for this discussion is very significant and has a vital role to play to my life and I believe every individual as well. Life is a risk in itself. I see risk as the ability to take a step even though you don't have concrete knowledge about what is to happen yet you stick to the confidence and the joy within to pursue such task. Risk is a vital tool for life's advancement. The more risk one takes, the closer one gets to the apex and the place of glory. Risk doesn't kill rather it makes you or marr you. Calculated risk has positive resultant effect. We are all products of the kind of risks we take. Most at times people are afraid because they don't want to take risk.
I took a drastic risk when I was mobilize and posted for my one year compulsory youth service. I never manipulated the posting neither did I lobby for anything. I was posted to the far north region of Nigeria where I never knew anybody neither do I have any family relation. I took the risk and successfully served my father's land for a complete period of one year. The risk paid off at the end because my performance was ranked 98% which made the school which happened to be my place of primary Assignment absorbed me as a permanent staff. Immediately my NYSC allowance stopped the salary started dropping. Later got promoted with other responsibilities attached. Where I never knew turned to be one of my favorite place to be. I have no regrets because I finally got my wife from there.
Another risk I took was getting married to my wife. She hails from the east whereas I'm from the middle belt region of Nigeria. Most of her family members reside in the east yet I made up my mind to follow her to any length. It appeared as if it won't hold but it all ended in praised. Today I am married and blessed with two wonderful kids.
There was a risk I took while I was much younger. Just to go and buy some stuff by the road side hmmm I had a terrible accident that I thought I was death. I sustained a broken leg but later stitched. Today I am fine by God's grace and alive.
As I conclude, is not every risk that pays off but hear what the spirit says in your inner mind. One of the attributes of a good entrepreneur is the ability to take risk even when all factors might not be in alignment.
