There is a saying, "The judgement of a parent does not lie in the hands of their child" it is well known that not all parents are responsible which might be as a result of lack of seriousness or ignorance but the truth is the fact that a parent did not do the needful doesn't mean their children needs to pay them back in the same way. In my culture, we are obligated to take care of our parents no matter their offence.
