Parenting is not easy, if you do too little it affects the child, if you do too much it also affects the child.
I came from a strict home where spanking was normal, although others complained that their experience brought trauma, mine was was quite the opposite, however, hitting a child is not something I am not too comfortable with unless it is necessary and even when the situation demands it, it should be done with caution and love.
Situation can never demand hitting, we can't hit anyone even if they are wrong, let it be a kid or an adult. There are other methods to deal with such stubborn kids. Parents who hit their child is because of their past trauma, they were also hit by their parents and that's how the chain is repeating. I feel sad that ppl hit their kids and justify it as love, care, teaching manners. Well, kids are not pets.
If my parents would hit me I would say it didn’t bother cuz my love for my parents is unconditional and every kid who's being hit they would say the some. Like no child will be ready to accept the truth that they were treated wrongly. But only a few would speak up about how bad they felt being hit.
Kids are supposed to have fun, do stupid things, because at that time they are not mature enough to understand the wrong things. If kids are taught with calmness it will slowly make them understand. Parents are not supposed make kids fearful. Otherwise it would be like, the kid is being good cuz she/he fears their mother/father not because they would end up doing the bad thing.
It's okay to make mistakes, we are not robots. Even after becoming adult we are still making wrong decisions then should we get beaten up for that? 😭
