I think a lot of things determines what is right or wrong and for me it is not one thing that determines what I see as right or wrong, Things like my religion, my culture, my family, the place I grew up in and the things that have happened to me, all these have all played a part in shaping the way I think today.

The way I see certain things has changed as I have grew older, there are things I thought were completely wrong when I was younger, but as I got older and experienced life I started to understand them differently, i do not necessarily agree with them, at least I understand why some people make certain choices.
My moral standing is something that I think about a lot, I think experience teaches you that life is not always simple growing up, our family plays a role in shaping our morals, most of the things we learn about, respect, honesty, kindness and responsibility usually begin at home, the way your parents raise you can influence the way you see the world.
For example if you are raised in a home where helping people is encouraged you may grow up believing that helping others is a responsibility, if you are raised in a home where everyone is taught to look out for themselves, your view of life may be completely different, then there is culture,
yes my culture plays a big role in my life, my culture can influence many things about me the way I greet people how I treat elders, how I view marriage, family, community and even certain behaviors, something that is considered normal in one culture may be seen as unacceptable in another, that alone shows that our moral understanding is not formed in isolation.
My religion also plays an important role for me. My religion gives me principles and values to live by, It teaches me about right and wrong , good and evil forgiveness, compassion and how I should treat others.
I also think people should not use religion as an excuse to stop thinking for themselves, we still have to develop our understanding and conscience, My environment also matters, the people around me, the kind of things I see growing up, the society I live in and even the experiences I go through can affect my morals standards,Sometimes life teaches you lessons that no book or sermon can teach you.
There are experiences that can completely change the way you see people and situations, this is also where freedom comes in, i believe people should have freedom, I do not think freedom means doing absolutely anything you want without considering the consequences, just because something is not against the law does not automatically make it right.
There are things that are not crimes but can still be morally wrong, hurting someone's feelings on purpose, betraying someone's trust, taking advantage of someone who is vulnerable or treating people badly may not always lead to the police knocking on your door but that does not make those actions good.
For me morality is about understanding that we live among other people, my freedom should not become an excuse to deliberately hurt someone Life, at the time I also understand that people will not always agree on what is morally right, that is why I try not to judge everyone based on my own personal standards.
I can disagree with someone's choices without believing that I am automatically better, than them at the end of the day I believe my moral standing is a combination of everything that has shaped me as a person, my upbringing, my culture, my religion, my environment and my experiences have all contributed to the way I think, as I continue to grow I believe my understanding will continue to change too because honestly life keeps teaching me about my moral standing and what is right and wrong.
