Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt, the perfect baby.
It is always the dream of every parent to have a perfect baby. No parent would like to have a defective child or a child with severe health challenges. Despite having kids with autism, they still put all their effort to make sure they provide and care for them. Just imagine that prospective parents have the ability to modify the genes of their unborn child's gift and talent and remove all defects and health issues to make them have a perfect baby.
If I must say, this offer is really mouthwatering. Who would not like to have a perfect baby free from defects and health challenges? There is nothing like having a child who is healthy and free from sickness. If I had the opportunity to choose the genes, gifts and talents of my kids, I would gladly do that. It may look as if I am trying to challenge my creator, but no, I am not. What is the need for bringing a child into the world if the kid has to suffer for the rest of their life? I will beat my chest; every parent will love to have a perfect baby.
Technology has really made the world easy; a mother can easily know the sex of an unborn child and detect some illness. You see, we are growing. It will be nice if they come up with a permanent change. I have this nephew of mine; I pity that boy. He is really suffering, and the illness is really making the parents uncomfortable. There is not a single night that my aunty doesn’t cry, questioning God. I also feel for her. She will always say if it is within her power, she will never give birth to a child that will stress her. At this point, my aunty just wishes she could remove the illness from the boy and use peace of mind.
If, with time, prospective parents can be able to modify babies before they are born, that means every human being will be perfect. Don’t you think that life will be boring since everyone existing in it is perfect? On the other hand, it will look as if we are playing God. There is this popular hymn I love so much, All Things Bright and Beautiful, which is everything that God created perfectly.
I understand the fact that things are advancing day by day; I still believe there should be a limit to things when it comes to rubbing shoulders with our creator. I am not in support of it. He has a reason why he didn’t give us such power to modify our babies.
As well as it will be the joy of every parent to modify their babies to choose their talent and gift. I think we should not aim for perfection; rather, we should understand that every baby is unique in its own way. As a parent, you should learn to embrace their differences and appreciate these young ones. with love and care that will help them to grow.
