For many, apology videos will only be a means to an end. They don't want to miss out on all the goodies that comes with being liked and loved, so they'd do anything they can to remain in the good graces of the people. Including pretending to be sorry!

Yeah that is true.
But it is starting to feel like being in the good grace of people is not all that matters anymore but being at the centre of people's discussion, being a trending subject. You can get this with a scandal and eventually come up with an apology video to make people feel sorry for you.
