I was an engineering student, I had to buy textbooks (about ten courses in a semester), manual (about six practicals), and also pay the fees for said practicals as well.

The people I used to pity the most were SLT students. They offered nothing less than 16 courses in a semester, and more than ten of those courses come with practicals. So 16 textbooks, 10+ manuals, and the workbook where experiments will be recorded.
