Hi there, fellow coffee lovers! How's your week so far? I hope you're having an amazing one! Finally, we are welcoming the month of June! And to jumpstart this month, I want to share with you this jewel my sister and I found, here in our quiet city.
This is Hemmingway Coffee Lounge, by the way. This cafe is a bit unique for us, since it is literally situated in an apartment building, and it kind of blew us away, because we did not expect the cafe to be this surprising!
Hemmingway Cafe: An environment for neurodivergent minds
This cafe's ultimate pro is that it provides a quiet space for everybody. And going back to this week's prompt, it was in Hemmingway Cafe that I experienced an ambience that helps me be productive, and an environment that is not stressful and super loud for me.
Directions to Hemmingway Cafe
To be honest, we had a bit of a difficult time locating the place, since the parking area that was visible to us was already full. Knowing that it was on the third floor, we had to ask for help, as to where we could possibly park, since we would be staying at the cafe found in the third floor. You'll know you've arrived at the place, since it has this "H" sign at the window area of the building. Once the kind lady told us the directions for parking, and what stairs to take going to the cafe, we finally found it!
Hemmningway Coffe Lounge Pros:
Now what makes this place unique is that this is a "QUIET THEMED CAFE", this means that once you enter the premises, you can only engage in quiet conversations, and respect everybody's privacy or work by staying quiet. So, unlike other cafes where we are sometimes met with loud music, and lively chatter and laughter, here in Hemmingway, we were met with comfortable silence. An environment that we are super happy about, since basically my sister and I go on this "cafe hunt" around the city, so that we can power through deadlines, and other work related activities, while enjoying a good cup of coffee, and some sugar rush pastries (the perfect combo!). And you know what the cherry on top is? This is also pet friendly! You can actually bring your furry friends over!
Here's a detailed version of the cafe's rules:
Cons:
I guess one downside to the cafe is that, you can't go there in groups, since its design is for introverts and basically anybody who'd like to spend some quiet time alone. So, if you are not into this, then the cafe is definitely not for you. Another would be its location. Since it is situated in an apartment building, it is not really that accessible and easy to find, just like what happened to us. But, if this is not a problem for you, then I bet you would enjoy your stay, just like how we enjoyed ours!
So, during our stay in Hemmingway, we tried the following pastries and coffee:
We tried their chocolate chip cookie, cream cheese cinnamon roll, and pain au chocolat. Would definitely order back their cream cheese cinnamon roll, since it was to die for!
It really is a great cafe to enjoy good coffee, without getting distracted by too much noise! While we were there, my sister was able to finish her work related activities, and I just enjoyed my coffee, while reading through Abby Jimenez's "The Fall Risk", which was a super short story, but still it was a fun read!
We would definitely be back in this hidden gem!
Thanks so much for reading through my post! Hope you enjoyed reading through this, as much as I enjoyed my cup of Spanish latte!
Lots of love,
