Hello my coffee-loving friends. Today I left early with my son to make some arrangements for the Miramar area of Havana. We were very close to the coast and decided to walk along Avenida Primera and Calle 70 in search of a strong coffee that would lift our spirits.
In this area of Miramar there is a small beach that does not really meet the beach standards since it does not have sand, it is a stretch of coast where the inhabitants of the nearby neighborhoods have always come to enjoy a swim in its waters, mainly in the summer months where the heat is very strong.
For about 5 years this place has resurfaced and is known as Miramar Promenade because they have located establishments that fulfill the function of cafes, restaurants and bars.
They are rustic constructions where wood predominates. The best thing about it is that they are open and most have two floors so you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea from wherever you are.
You can appreciate the great contrast that the rusticity of these facilities causes with the very modern hotels that surround it.
Actually, the life of these places begins in the afternoons and at night, it is when there is a greater influx of people, especially tourists who like to explore the facilities outside the comfort of the hotel and contact more closely with the inhabitants of the place.
The beach has umbrellas made of tree trunks and a guano roof, there are also concrete benches from where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunsets.
We were exploring several sites, but only one was open, Bom Apetite, they were really opening at that time. We sat very close to the railing to have a beautiful view of the ocean.
I liked its interior decoration, the furniture is made of wood and has comfortable cushions, the ceiling has a wooden framework with ornamental plants that is very cozy.
We ordered 2 espressos because we really like strong black coffee, especially today we needed it at this time of the morning.
The service arrived very quickly as we were the only customers, they brought us the 2 cups of coffee and a pot with sugar to sweeten it to our liking. We put a teaspoon of sugar and when we drank it it was very good, it was a coffee with a delicious aroma and a strong Cuban-style roast.
We slowly enjoyed each sip of the delicious coffee chatting and looking at the sea. We left very encouraged by the good coffee, ready to do our tasks for the day.

En busca de un café en el Paseo Marítimo de Miramar
Hola mis amigos amantes del café. Hoy salí temprano con mi hijo para hacer unas gestiones por la zona de Miramar de La Habana. Estábamos muy cerca de la costa y decidimos caminar por Avenida Primera y calle 70 en busca de un café fuerte que nos levantara el ánimo.
En esta zona de Miramar se encuentra una pequeña playita que realmente no cumple con los estándares de playa ya que no tiene arena, es un tramo de costa donde los habitantes de los barrios cercanos siempre han acudido a disfrutar de un baño en sus aguas, principalmente en los meses de verano donde el calor es muy fuerte.
Desde hace alrededor de 5 años este lugar ha resurgido y se le conoce como Paseo Marítimo de Miramar porque han ubicado establecimientos que cumplen la función de cafeterías, restaurantes y bares.
Son construcciones rústicas donde predomina la madera. Lo mejor que tiene es que son abiertas y la mayoría tiene dos plantas por eso se puede disfrutar de una preciosa vista al mar desde cualquier punto donde estés.
Se puede apreciar el gran contraste que provoca la rusticidad de estas instalaciones con los modernísimos hoteles que le rodean.
Realmente la vida de estos locales comienza en las tardes y en las noches es cuando hay mayor afluencia de público sobre todo de turistas que les gusta explorar las instalaciones fuera del confort del hotel y contactar más cerca con los pobladores del lugar.
La playita tiene sombrillas hechas de troncos de árboles y techo de guano, también hay bancos de concreto desde donde se puede disfrutar de las impresionantes puestas de sol.
Estuvimos explorando varios sitios, pero solo uno se encontraba abierto, Bom Apetite, realmente estaban abriendo en ese momento. Nos sentamos muy cerca de la baranda para tener una hermosa vista al mar.
Me gustó su decoración interior, los muebles son de madera y tienen cojines cómodos, el techo tiene un entramado de madera con plantas ornamentales que resulta muy acogedor.
Pedimos 2 café espressos porque realmente nos gusta el café negro bien fuerte, sobre todo hoy lo necesitábamos a esta hora de la mañana.
El servicio llegó muy rápido ya que éramos los únicos clientes, nos trajeron las 2 tazas de café y un pote con azúcar para endulzarlo a nuestro gusto. Le pusimos una cucharadita de azúcar y al tomarlo estaba muy bueno, era un café con un delicioso aroma y un tostado fuerte al estilo cubano.
Disfrutamos despacio cada sorbo del delicioso café conversando y mirando el mar. Nos fuimos muy animados por el buen café, listos para realizar nuestras tareas del día.
