The interview was almost over when I smiled at the smell of freshly brewed coffee. I thought: this is the perfect moment. This week, for work reasons, I had to visit the lobby bar of the Meliá Cohiba hotel, and to my satisfaction, almost at the end of the interview, I was invited to taste the coffee of the place.
I felt very comfortable in this place because it is decorated in a very delicate style, especially because of the large glasses with flowers that adorn the walls.
To be honest, I did not have high expectations about the coffee of the place; I was struck by the huge retrobar they have and that it has a great variety of drinks and liquors, so I associated it with a place specialized in other types of products.
But to my pleasant surprise, they have a loyal clientele that visits the place frequently to drink their cup of coffee. They also offer a variety of sweets that look delicious, especially the brownies and super croissants.
Before they brought my coffee to the table, I couldn't help but approach the "big red machine". I thought about the genius of that creation. The barista explained to me that the varieties they currently offer are: latte, cappuccino, caramel macchiato, Jamaican coffee and Scotch coffee; and that they frequently make some changes. I could see that they were very helpful and experienced workers, so I was convinced that I would like my coffee.
I still liked to see the cups and sugar bowls well cleaned and polished, above the bar counter. I think that coffee does not taste the same if you drink it in a disposable cup, it is not the same. I don't know if this happens to you too, I think it is a sign of respect to drink it with a proper presentation.
And finally it arrived! With its intoxicating smell to brighten up my afternoon. In the sugar set they put honey, and that's what I chose to sweeten. But only a little, I don't like it to lose its essence.
