Living in a world where technology has grown to the point that you can find any information you want on the thing called "the internet," it provides you with whatever you need, thereby leading to you not stressing over anything.
And that brings me to asking myself this question: "Who needs manuals?" Nowadays, everything you need is flying around on the internet, like I mentioned earlier. Gone are the days when someone would purchase a gadget and go through the manual thoroughly to use it.
Currently, you'd be wondering who needs a manual? This question might sound a little funny, but the truth still remains that manuals are still needed.
Did I use the manual for my current device? Well, the answer is "No." I can't remember where I kept the manual, though. I don't know if it accompanied the device or not. I feel like since I've gotten used to a smartphone before, getting a new one now. I'd be able to operate it effortlessly without going through the manual seeking directions.
I set up the device without looking at the directions the manual provided because of the knowledge I've had about smartphones, so it was a lot easier than using the manual. But then I'm not saying manuals aren't important, "well," they are very important. I can remember vividly when my senior brother got his first laptop; it was brand new, so it was accompanied by the manual and some other stuff that came with it.
Since it was his first time getting a brand new laptop. He made use of the manual to set up the laptop, because the manual provided every procedure on how to set up the laptop individually without taking it to a third party for assistance, and for ensuring safer usage of the laptop.
User manuals are important, "if not very." I'm gonna make use of the user manual when I purchase a device that I'm new to, even in a world where we can literally get anything we want by just sourcing the internet, and we are good to go. But then, does the internet provide everything? Another question.
The internet is likely to provide everything, though, but then the user manual provides you with first-hand information on how to use a device and set it up properly without encountering any issues along the way. Deep down, I believe user manuals are very important to keep around in case any failure on the device is noticed.
