Renewing My Debit Card: A Necessary Step for App Activation.

in Digital Lifestyle7 days ago (edited)

Since the expiration of my UBA debit card, which should be about four years now, I decided not to renew it for obvious reasons. My banking needs were being met by my Access Bank and OPay wallet accounts, and I had grown accustomed to using their services more frequently, most especially OPay, due to their efficient service delivery.

Additionally, with the UBA app, I could manage my account without needing the debit card. Saves me a lot of card stress.

However, recent circumstances required me to reactivate the app, and since I couldn't remember my password I needed either the debit card or a secure passkey for verification purposes. Unfortunately, I had neither of the two. On a scale of preference, I decided to go for the debit card, which I envision might come in handy some day.

So today, I took out time to visit the nearest UBA Plc branch located along Asa / Azikiwe Road, Aba. Getting there, I was directed to the customer care section responsible for issuing cards. I was handed a request form, which I filled out, submitted, and then sat down with the others who came for the same purpose, to wait for my turn.

Unfortunately, the wait was quite long due to network service glitch and the queue too. However, I remained patient, knowing that the process would be worth it in the end. Additionally, I used the opportunity to observe the bank's operations and take note of the service delivery.

Interestingly, Wednesdays happen to be the bank's customer appreciation day, where they show appreciation to their valued customers. One of the bank staff took the opportunity to address us. He welcomed us, expressed gratitude for our patronage, and encouraged us to transact more and recommend the bank to friends, family and everyone we know. Nice scope.

So in any case you have need to open up a new account, do well to consider UBA Plc.

I've done my own bit as a loyal customer. Ehen now. Lol.

Wrapping up, he announced that we would be getting a small gift in appreciation for our loyalty.

Hmmm, banks and gifts sha. E no go pass sweet, chewing gum or biscuit. 😂

And that was it. We were then treated with water, biscuits and sweet. I got biscuit and Milkose sweet. Seems like I'll be visiting the bank every Wednesday. Lol.

The gesture, though simple, portrayed the bank as one that values its customers and is making an effort to build a stronger relationship with them. Cool, right?

But at the end, the customers would likely be paying for these treats via transaction charges. A case of robbing Peter to pay Paul. 😂

Finally, after the long wait, my name was called, and I proceeded to complete the renewal process. Few minutes after, I was issued the debit card. Immediately, I went to the ATM machine to test it, and fortunately, it worked just fine, with no hitches.

I'm glad that I got the debit card renewed, and can finally complete the setup of my UBA app and enjoy seamless banking transactions.

By the way, have you ever gotten a treat from your bank before? I'd love to read your thoughts, thank you.

It's been a very long time I entered a banking hall especially due to the long queues. Those waiting time can be very annoying.

Hahaha that's interesting ooo, bank gifting gifts hehe! I will try and find out the day my bank does theirs so that I will be visiting too 🤣😆

That kind thing. Our account will surely suffer it. 😅

I think this particular branch decided to put steeze in their operations, just to be different.
