I shared the whole issue with my screen time last week and I had a number of you showing so much concern for me and recommending ways on to how to deal with it. I’m really grateful for each and everyone of you and your contribution. I’m excited to announce that my screen time has reduced. I mean if you look at it for the first time, you might think it’s nothing but if you take a second look and compare to my old screen time, you will know it’s a big deal for someone like me.
The whole of last week, was an indoor week for me yet, I managed to reduce my screen time. Do you get it? Like it means a lot because being indoors means I should want to press my phone but no I didn’t press it that much. You know it actually got worse. I started feeling sudden headaches so I had to be serious with the whole screen time. I reduced it and then by reduced it I mean I slept more.
The main thing I did was to uninstall Snapchat leaving ecency and discord for social purposes. If you know me you’ll know I am not a social media person but Snapchat is my go-to Web 2 where I go to find any gist that I need and then check up on friends. However, for some reasons, I’ve been really using it so much now. It doesn’t even make sense that sometimes I find myself there without even remembering how I got there. I mean I know better than anyone how addiction to an app starts because I have been there before so I just had to let it go.

I started watching a Netflix series to replace the desire to go to Snapchat. Of course, you don’t just fight addiction or the beginning of an addiction with total removal. There should be a substitute which plays the same role but less harmful. I chose Netflix because I’m not a big fan of movies so I know with time, I will even get bored and leave. Then I’ll be back to my normal screen time, hopefully. It’s not that easy but as I said, I have been there before and I’m only repeating what worked for me the last time.
This is nothing from a professional, I am not a professional I’m just doing what works for me. I realized there are only two eyes. More importantly, I can’t have anyone donating their eyes for me so I have to take good care of the ones that I have. I can’t do without screen but I will eventually find a way to outdo the whole desire to sit behind screen for hours.

By next week, everything should be back to normal. I’m giving myself 24 more hours, I know I’ll get bored with Netflix and then back to my normal screen time with crocheting replacing all those apps.
