Hello Hive friends and nature lovers! 🍄
Today I want to share an interesting photo of a species of wild mushroom growing on an old tree trunk around my garden.
This mushroom has a unique coloration, with a pure white underside and a glossy orange-brown top, as if coated with wax. Upon closer inspection, its shape appears tiered and slightly bulging in the center, possibly a type of wood fungus (polypore), possibly from the Ganoderma genus.
Its presence enriches the microbial life around the decaying tree trunk and demonstrates the important role fungi play as natural decomposers in the ecosystem.
Furthermore, I also discovered a striking colony of mushrooms with a bright red-orange color growing on the old tree trunk. The color contrasts sharply with the dull bark, making it appear like a shining jewel in the small forest.
I'm not sure what kind it is, but it's likely a type of bracket fungus or polypore, which often grows on dead wood and aids in the natural decomposition process.
