in FungiFriday3 days ago

Good afternoon, friends of the #fungifriday community. With all due respect, I would like to greet all of you in this great community, and of course, to anyone who has visited and read my blog. My respects to you all.

Okay, back again, today is Friday, August 8th, still the beginning of the month. I hope we all remain enthusiastic in carrying out all our activities, as the afternoon turns to evening, and of course, the weekend approaches. May you all be happy.

Well, friends, at this moment, I am very happy to still be able to participate in the #fungifriday community organized by @ewkaw, the host and provider of this very interesting venue.

This is my contribution to the #FungiFriday challenge by @ewkaw.

So, here are some pictures and types of mushrooms I will share below:

Well, this first one is a clam mushroom in my area, and we call it a clam mushroom because it resembles a small clam shell. However, after I googled the name, it turns out it's a type of Schizophyllum commune, or the "serrated mushroom," a species of fungus in the genus Schizophyllum.

This mushroom resembles a dense coral reef fan. It has serrated edges that vary in shape from creamy yellow to pale white. The cap is small, 1–4 centimeters (3⁄8–1 5⁄8 in) wide, with a dense yet spongy body. It's known as the split-gill mushroom because of the unique "gills" that split lengthwise on the underside of the cap. This mushroom is found worldwide.

This mushroom is found in the wild on decaying trees after the rainy season followed by the dry season, when the mushrooms are collected naturally.

The scientific classification is as follows:

Subkingdom: Holomycota
Kingdom: Fungi
Phylum: Basidiomycota
Class: Agaricomycetes
Order: Agaricales
Family: Schizophyllaceae
Genus: Schizophyllum
Species: Schizophyllum commune

So, next, I also discovered another type of fungus that I think is very cool: jelly fungi. Jelly fungi are a member of the Basidiomycota group, belonging to the Heterobasidiomycetes class :

This group actually consists of four large families: Tremellales, Auriculariales, Sebacinales, and Dacrymycetales.

The habitat and distribution of jelly fungi are actually very broad. It turns out that these fungi are often used in various ingredients. Their use as a food ingredient is popular in China and Southeast Asia, but they have spread widely throughout the world. This group of fungi can be found in Hawaii, Europe, South America, and even East Africa. Experts have even encountered them in the forests of North America and Texas.

Well, that's all I can share in my blog today. I really appreciate your support, along with your criticism and suggestions, so that this post will be even more perfect and useful for all of us.
Thank you for visiting this post, see you in the next one. Best regards.
