Swimming In The Ocean Of Chaos

Friction.
Tension.
A battle of seemingly opposites.
A middle ground is hardly an absence of two extremes, but rather a combination of both.

This is why trying to maintain a rigid balance for a long period of time is always hard. By proxy, one extreme is always constantly battling the other extreme.

If you think about it, chaos isn't really an absence of structure. The problem is with our lack of integrity to build structure while immersed in chaos.

It's way easier to move with the currents of the ocean than build a boat and a paddle to move with the currents while also charting our own course.

The former requires little to no effort, which means no friction, no tension, no resistance.

I wish life could be that easy, like an endless summer with plentiful food and laughter, where the days melt into each other like ice cream on a hot day.

But a part of me evidently knows that overcoming challenges is what leads to growth, a nagging voice whispers that such carefree existence wouldn't be fulfilling.

Besides, there's a hollowness in simply being tossed about by the current.

The Yearning For More Than Ease

Eventually, this seemingly easy path is seen for what it is, a playground for a while, maybe.

But the human spirit craves more than fleeting amusement and yearns for the thrill of exploration, the satisfaction of carving our own path across the vast expanse.

Despite the raging chaos, building a boat and paddle doesn't really require superhuman strength.

In the grand scheme of things, it's the small decisions that really make a difference in the long run.

Whats interesting is the law of consequences that's attached to every decision we make. In some ways, this differs depending on the path we take.

Having it easy now is a gateway to having it hard later and having it hard now is a potential gateway of having it easy later.

The baseline goes beyond having it easy or hard. Life is what we make of it. Such a realization can be both liberating and overwhelming.

I would rather much prefer to learn how to swim the ocean of chaos than simply be another piece of driftwood floating aimlessly, hoping for a favorable current.

In an intuitive sense, we can both be charting our own course and move with the ocean currents, one doesn't necessarily have to give way for the other.

But this is really hard to understand from a two dimensional perspective, where things are either right or wrong, good or bad.
