Story of Meher Baba and Meherabad - Part 1

in Proof of Brainlast year

Before I start I will like to let you all know that I will make this post in 4 parts. One where I will talk about Meher Baba the Spiritual Master, second where I will take you around the Spiritual Retreat and the Resting place of Baba, third which takes you through the journey of Baba's home and the last one the place that Meherabad is all about.

This is a place where I enjoy going again and again. Meherabad is an Ashram which was established by Meher baba in the small town of Ahmednagar. Now it is the resting place of Baba and also a spiritual center. I have mentioned about Meher Baba in my previous blogs also. He was a spiritual master and had a following of millions of people, not only in India but across the world. His teaching were all about connecting ourself to divinity. He was a nature lover and practiced minimalist living all his life. He spread messages of Love and Peace around the world.

The other magical part of Meher Baba was that he observed silence all his life and all the messages he gave were in silence. We speak so much and yet we are not able to communicate and here he did not speak at all and yet he was able to deliver some of the most profound messages of the Universe through silence. That was his divine power. At the age of 31 he stopped talking and from there on for the next 43 years that he lived he observed silence. His followers of that time would say that he spoke with his eyes. They were that expressive.

Somethings that he said in his silence are very beautiful. Which is that we live in an illusionary world and this entire Universe is in our imagination. God is the only one that exists and we are all many parts of God who are just passing through this imagination to realize our own divinity and finally merge with the One God or Source. I am sometimes wonder he was one miracle of God. He lived in no riches and no palaces. He lived a very simple life with his wife and sister in the ashram and created so much magic for the world with his wisdom and preachings.

From my city there are 2 ways to travel to this place, one is driving and the other by train. I preferred to travel by train. It was an overnight journey both ways and I will not say very comfortable but ok. The trains on this route are the old ones and not the upgraded ones, so they are not very comfortable. Anyways I reached, it was a 8 hour journey. It was a night journey so I went to sleep and time passed out.

Early morning arriving at Ahmednagar Station. From here I had to take a rickshaw and then reach to the spiritual retreat which took me around half an hour.

Finally I reached the retreat. I did the check-in part and then straight went to the Shrine, since it was prayer time by then.

This is the Shrine. Every morning and evening there are prayers done here and songs are sung in praise of Baba.

In this place is the Tomb of Baba.

Amazing place, i just loved these shots!

This place is very beautiful In this we can also say a prayer of our own. There are many benefits of praying.

Wow, so educational. I didn't know about Meher Baba, therefore looking forward to discovering more about this interesting man & place through your writing. What I find absolutely fascinating are the symbols such as the acorn, the tree of life plus all the ones spread through the wall which looks like a stunningly beautiful mosaic. Why? Because we encounter these symbols across the globe irrespective of religion, belief system, culture etc. It makes you want to go deeper down the rabbit hole and discover new realms about this illusion / simulation / you name it, we call life.

Though he is famous worldwide but only with a small set of people.
This Wall is truly incredible and they call it the Wall of Love and Hope, because there are such beautiful messages on it.
You can take a look at my today's blog on what the Retreat looks like @kriszrokk

There are things we do not understand that easy, if I tell anyone we can talk with our eyes for 43 years most of us would never understand until we met someone who does, it even sounds impossible the same way a blind man can see but they are actually mastering and using other senses to achieve a goal, I guess this would help focus a lot more while not spending time talking, when you think about thats a lot of effort and time it takes on daily bases

That's our problem, we talk so much and yet not able to convey our messages. We make a mess and trouble out of our conversations.
You are right when one of our senses do not operate all the energy gets channeled into the other senses. This is what I had read somewhere that 97% of our senses energy is in our vision, so when a person is bling they can direct that energy into the other senses and make them powerful. Like wise we can also do so much with that 97% energy in our vision.

They say silence is a very profound and beautiful state to understand the mysteries of the universe. I think we talk the most in the modern era, and much of it is indeed just air with no substance.

Glad to see the place is well kept and the last image of the wall with many iconographies is beautifully decorated :)

Yes, a lot we speak is just garb, and our words carry energy, that's how we have been making a mess of this world

Quite an interesting ancient history that bounds them together

Truly
