Before I start I will like to let you all know that I will make this post in 4 parts. One where I will talk about Meher Baba the Spiritual Master, second where I will take you around the Spiritual Retreat and the Resting place of Baba, third which takes you through the journey of Baba's home and the last one the place that Meherabad is all about.
This is a place where I enjoy going again and again. Meherabad is an Ashram which was established by Meher baba in the small town of Ahmednagar. Now it is the resting place of Baba and also a spiritual center. I have mentioned about Meher Baba in my previous blogs also. He was a spiritual master and had a following of millions of people, not only in India but across the world. His teaching were all about connecting ourself to divinity. He was a nature lover and practiced minimalist living all his life. He spread messages of Love and Peace around the world.
The other magical part of Meher Baba was that he observed silence all his life and all the messages he gave were in silence. We speak so much and yet we are not able to communicate and here he did not speak at all and yet he was able to deliver some of the most profound messages of the Universe through silence. That was his divine power. At the age of 31 he stopped talking and from there on for the next 43 years that he lived he observed silence. His followers of that time would say that he spoke with his eyes. They were that expressive.
Somethings that he said in his silence are very beautiful. Which is that we live in an illusionary world and this entire Universe is in our imagination. God is the only one that exists and we are all many parts of God who are just passing through this imagination to realize our own divinity and finally merge with the One God or Source. I am sometimes wonder he was one miracle of God. He lived in no riches and no palaces. He lived a very simple life with his wife and sister in the ashram and created so much magic for the world with his wisdom and preachings.
From my city there are 2 ways to travel to this place, one is driving and the other by train. I preferred to travel by train. It was an overnight journey both ways and I will not say very comfortable but ok. The trains on this route are the old ones and not the upgraded ones, so they are not very comfortable. Anyways I reached, it was a 8 hour journey. It was a night journey so I went to sleep and time passed out.
Early morning arriving at Ahmednagar Station. From here I had to take a rickshaw and then reach to the spiritual retreat which took me around half an hour.
Finally I reached the retreat. I did the check-in part and then straight went to the Shrine, since it was prayer time by then.
This is the Shrine. Every morning and evening there are prayers done here and songs are sung in praise of Baba.
In this place is the Tomb of Baba.
These are the tombs of his close disciples
That's the painting of Baba, with one of his disciples.
Look at this beautiful wall, which is full of messages of love, brotherhood, humanity, peace....
As of today we end here and continue tomorrow where I will take you on a tour of the Retreat.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
