Late to the game

I'm a bit late to the game today on getting my recap of the Little League World Series put together. It has been a crazy morning. I have been running from one end of the building to another putting out fires right and left. It's that time of year.

Meanwhile, the young men playing in the bracket are trying to squeak out as much life from the summer as they possibly can. With the start of school right around the corner, these guys are hoping to extend their summer break just a little longer.

Elimination bracket play started on Saturday this past weekend with New England bouncing out the Southwest 7 to 3 and The Great Lakes edging past Mid-Atlantic 3 to 2. I wasn't able to watch any of the games, but I bet that second one was really exciting. Meanwhile, over on the International side of the bracket Mexico ousted Puerto Rico with prejudice 11 to 5, and Australia showed they might still have a chance beating Europe-Asia 5 to 3.

On Sunday we moved on to the next round of elimination games with the Northwest beating New England 3 to 2 and The West knocking the Great Lakes out of the running 9 to 1. Likewise, Mexico proved they are not ready to go home yet by taking down Panama 2 to 1, and Canada put a thumping on Australia 12 to 0 to send them back down under.

There are four more games today back in the winners portion of the bracket with The Southeast taking on the Mountain region, and The Midwest taking on the Metro team. Over on the International side we have Latin America facing Japan, and Asia-Pacific facing Caribbean.

It's going to be an all out race to the finish as the final game approaches on August 24th of 2025. I don't know if I could call it one way or the other right now. Maybe Southeast vs. Japan for the title. Don't quote me on that though!
