Me and Hive: what a combo! My journey on the hive blockchain has been quite amazing, hive has come through for me in so many areas to the point that I've lost count of it.
I joined the hive blockchain late last year "November to be precise" Joining hive wasn't part of my plans for last year but then it just came into my life miraculously "Well, it is" because my cousin introduced hive to me some months back, and every day he will be ringing it to my ears, and be like "Tarila join hive" then the almighty me at the other hand was thinking about something else and what is that? "I can't write" well, I write but not this kind of hive writing (does hive require a specific writing skill).
After telling my cousin that, the next words he uttered were, "Everybody can write," and besides, on hive, you don't have to be boxed, you can write about anything; there is always something for everyone, so saying you can't write isn't an excuse. Since the talk kept on coming every day, I decided to give it a try, so he helped in creating my account, and that marked the beginning of my hive journey.
The account was done and that same day, I started working on my introductory post, well, I got likes and comments, and seeing those comments made me feel welcome, from that moment I realized Hive had come to stay in my life, so I started navigating through the platform, reading other authors post, visiting different communities and reading about their guidelines because that's what my cousin told me after creating my account.
Enough about my humble beginning: So far hive has been nothing but amazing, before now, I've been filled with thoughts of having an extra source of income but I didn't know how to achieve that till Hive came into my life and played that game nicely for me, currently, I'm not gonna call hive my extra source income but my main source of income "hive is playing that role perfectly well". Hive isn't just a place to write but a place to make genuine friends as well "I'm a living testimony of that" At first when my cousin said I should try and build genuine connections (friends) with people, I dimmed it as a difficult task that I can't perform not even with magic.
Fortunately, I joined some of the community discord channels, and I've been able to build some friendships, people I run to whenever I'm feeling lost in the platform. The hive blockchain has the most amazing humans; I don't know if they were specially selected because that alone makes hive unique. I've never seen nor imagined myself to be a writer, writing wasn't part of my goals in life but here I am, writing on this amazing platform, currently, writing has become a huge of my life, something I can't do without, and the good thing is that I don't run out of things to write about, every day some topics being put out there by different communities, so I don't experience writer's block.
We set goals every day on how our life would turn out, and the setting of goals isn't an exception on the hive blockchain as well; when the year started, I set out some goals I wanted to achieve before the year ran out, and here I am counting my blessing the moment I came across this topic. I've been able to accomplish some percentage of my goals and I'm super grateful for that. Currently, I'm not where I want to be, but at the same time, I'm not where I used to be when I first started, and that alone is a blessing that I will always count.
