The stock market is not the economy. Part of it, yes. Representative of the whole, no. Every time someone points to the stock market as proof of prosperity, or imminent doom, I can't help but feel frustrated at such surface-level analysis. The K-shaped economy is real, and discretionary spending is getting squeezed.

The smoke here on the inland side of Washington and the Idaho panhandle hasn't been too bad for the most part. A few days were bad. We have also seen 100°F temperatures, but that's a bit less unusual here.
