RE: The first week of topcomment

Society is inherently inert. If something works, even poorly, people think there’s no need to change it. This is likely due to laziness and plain human foolishness. Sometimes a system may already be in a critical state, requiring changes to function, but most people will still believe everything is fine. That’s why society needs a "push"—arguments and reasoning about why they should do more than they currently do. A format like these weekly reports is just what’s needed.

Many underestimate the value of comment threads in general. I did too until I came across a financial report where the author tracks the number of comments and sets a sort of minimum benchmark for the ratio of posts to comments.

I’m gathering information on the formation of curation accounts without the direct involvement of whales. So far, the most effective example has been the duo-curator account, which has grown by 35k HP in less than a year (the curator periodically publishes reports, so progress can be tracked on their page—it’s interesting). They do have a comprehensive approach. I recommend reading Duo White Paper. It’s an interesting model, though labor-intensive, but you might find some ideas for the future.

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into that Duo White Paper!
