I have often had friendly discussions due to conceptual differences of any kind.
I am convinced that the act of creating is inherent to human beings. Claiming that there are individuals who completely lack creative power is simply false; a recurring topic in many conversations, especially in small groups of intellectuals who attribute creation only to artists.
And while it is an unquestionable truth that literary creation has given us great treasures that humanity is proud of, a phenomenon that repeats itself gloriously in the plastic or visual arts, as it is correct to say now, as well as in music, architecture, dance, sculpture, and cinema, known as the seventh art, I ask myself: do only artists create? My answer is categorical and forceful: NO. Many doubt this "no" because they cling to sensory dogmas and rigid definitions that exclude the obvious.
Creation completely transcends any conventional definition of art. It is an impulse that defines us. Humanity, as a whole, has created complex societies, transformed food, and modified nature on countless occasions in the so-called "good of mankind," although we cannot always be proud of that selfishness disguised as progress. In the name of that same creative impulse, we have destroyed irrecoverable parts of our planet.
But, returning to the beginning, what do we create? The spectrum is immense. We have created medicines to protect us from lethal infections, vaccines that have saved an incalculable percentage of people, sophisticated diagnostic methods, calculation methods that explain the universe, and devices that have allowed us to go beyond the limits of our retina to, at least, imagine in which corner of the cosmos we are located. The invention of means of transport has shortened distances, and the development of materials, both biological and synthetic, has redefined construction and engineering.
This is not about making a simple inventory, but if we were to put everything considered art on one scale and everything that is not on the other, there would be material for a great and necessary dispute. Because, where do we draw the line? And, of course, I cannot forget those nefarious creations that have been and will be the shadow of our ingenuity: the atomic bomb, chemical and biological weapons that have blinded the lives of so many due to the excessive ambition of a few. Here lies the essential paradox: the same spark that illuminates can also set the forest on fire.
And well, last but not least, because today it is both a monumental advancement and a social disease: mobile telephony, social networks, and controversial artificial intelligence. They are our creations that, in turn, re-create and transform us, for better and for worse.
Let it be clear to all who read this: this is not an attack on artists, not at all. A few years ago, I decided to delve into the world of literature and have written poetry, narrative, and since I was young, song has been part of my life… that is to say, friends, I am not criticizing myself. The goal, in a way, is to make it clear to those who do not think so, that within each of us beats the potential to create.
And I had forgotten about cooking! That daily and universal creation, the eternal dance of flavors, aromas, and textures that nourishes the body and soul. It is pure transformative alchemy that can enchant the masses.
At least I live proud of being an ordinary person, who does not stand out in the crowd, and I have created art and something that is not art. We can all do it. The seed of creation is not reserved for a select few; it lies dormant in every action, in every idea, in every human gesture that seeks, humbly, to leave a mark on the world.

Saludos amigos Hivers, un abrazo desde este rincón del mundo, mi blog.
No pocas veces he tenido discusiones amigables por diferencias conceptuales de cualquier índole.
Yo estoy convencida que el acto de crear es inherente al ser humano. Afirmar que existen individuos que carecen por completo del poder creativo es, sencillamente falso; un tema recurrente en muchas conversaciones, sobre todo en reducidos grupos de intelectuales que atribuyen la creación solo a los artistas.
Y si bien es una verdad incuestionable que la creación literaria nos ha regalado grandes tesoros de los que se enorgullece la humanidad, un fenómeno que se repite de manera gloriosa en las artes plásticas o visuales, como es correcto decir ahora, así como en la música, la arquitectura, la danza, la escultura y el cine, conocido como el séptimo arte—, yo me pregunto: ¿acaso solo los artistas crean? Mi respuesta es categórica y contundente: NO. Muchos dudan ante este "no" porque se aferran a dogmas sensoriales y a definiciones rígidas que excluyen lo obvio.
La creación trasciende por completo cualquier definición convencional de arte. Es un impulso que nos define. La humanidad, en su conjunto, ha creado sociedades complejas, ha transformado alimentos y ha modificado en innumerables ocasiones la naturaleza en el llamado "bien de los hombres", aunque no siempre podamos sentirnos orgullosos de ese egoísmo disfrazado de progreso. En nombre de ese mismo impulso creador, hemos destruido partes irrecuperables de nuestro planeta.
Pero, volviendo al inicio, ¿qué creamos? El espectro es inmenso. Hemos creado medicinas para ampararnos de infecciones letales, vacunas que han salvado a un porcentaje incalculable de personas, sofisticados medios diagnósticos, métodos de cálculo que explican el universo, y aparatos que nos han permitido ir más allá de los límites de nuestra retina para, al menos, imaginar en qué rincón del cosmos nos ubicamos. La invención de los medios de transporte ha acortado distancias, y el desarrollo de materiales, tanto biológicos como sintéticos, ha redefinido la construcción y la ingeniería.
No se trata de hacer un simple inventario, pero si pusiéramos en una balanza todo lo que se considera arte y todo lo que no, habría material para una gran y necesaria querella. Porque, ¿dónde trazar la línea? Y, por supuesto, no puedo olvidar aquellas creaciones nefastas que han sido y serán la sombra de nuestro ingenio: la bomba atómica, las armas químicas y biológicas que han cegado la vida de tantos y tantos por la ambición desmedida de unos pocos. He aquí la paradoja esencial: la misma chispa que ilumina también puede incendiar el bosque.
Y bien, no por último deja de ser menos importante, porque hoy es a la vez un avance monumental y una enfermedad social, la telefonía móvil, las redes sociales y la controvertida inteligencia artificial. Son creaciones nuestras que, a su vez, nos re-crean y nos transforman, para bien y para mal.
Que quede claro ante todos los que lean esto: no es un ataque a los artistas, para nada. Hace algunos años decidí adentrarme en el mundo de la literatura y he escrito poesía, narrativa, tambie desde joven la canción ha formado parte de mi vida… es decir, amigos, que no me critico a mí misma. El objetivo, de alguna manera, es dejar claro para quienes no lo consideran así, que en cada uno de nosotros late el potencial para crear.
¡Y se me había olvidado la cocina! Esa creación diaria y universal, la eterna danza de los sabores, los olores y las texturas que nutre el cuerpo y el alma. Es pura alquimia transformadora que puede enamorar a las multitudes.
Al menos yo, vivo orgullosa de ser alguien común, que no sobresale en la multitud, y he creado arte y algo que no es arte. Todos podemos hacerlo. La semilla de la creación no está reservada para unos iluminados; yace dormida en cada acción, en cada idea, en cada gesto humano que busca, humildemente, dejar una marca en el mundo.
