As I had to go back to Solothurn city, I took a break in the beautiful cathedral which is located in the center. The St. Ursen Cathedral is considered the most important Swiss building of early classicism and was built in light-colored Solothurn marble.
The cathedral is also considered as a masterpiece of the magic eleven. Why? because the steps up to the cathedral are three times eleven. Inside there are eleven altars and the tower is six times eleven meters high and has eleven bells. The cathedral was completely rebuilt for the last time between 1762 and 1773.also 11 years long. Interesting.
Just a little bit away is the Clock Tower, also known as the Red Tower, the oldest building in the city of Solothurn, built partly in the first half of the 13th century.
Have a wonderful day!
