So, I am doing The 100-Day Project Challenge again; my second attempt at this creativity "habit building" exercise. You can read more at the above link; or just choose "a creative thing" to pursue for 100 consecutive days... and then use #the100dayproject as one of your first three tags so others on Hive and other social media can find you!
Today is combination post for Day 9 & 10.
Ahead of this challenge I made the agreement with myself that it would not be a failure if I ended up having to combine two or more days' events into a single post... because life happens. And so, I find myself joining days 9 & 10.
I realize that one of the ways I often get in my own way is by spending far too much time planning what I need to get done, and not nearly enough actually doing what I need to get done!
I partially blame my own inherent laziness... I have always been very good at "looking busy" without actually putting in a lot of effort.
The other "problem" I have is that I tend to have far too many projects going, at any one time... and so I can seldom find enough contiguous hours to put into things, because I rationalize that there are always "other things" clamoring for my attention.
Today's Creative Endeavor:
Well, it ended up actually being a two-day stone.
In the early days of Alchemy Stones, I did a lot of pieces that were just with "black-only" or "white-only" designs... and I always liked the simplicity of these rather monochromatic stones.
What I got done on day one
You have to have the right sort of stone. Too pale, and the white tends to disappear, too dark, and the black tends to disappear. Of course, there's no telling for sure until the finish coat has been applied.
I like to add a few touches of gold, for the sake of "warmth."
Day two, and it is finished
Minding the Store(s):
Yesterday, I spent some time cleaning up the templates I use to create Etsy listings that are not related to hearts.
One of the "deals" I made with myself was that if I were going to take this whole relisting and updating process seriously, I needed to take the time to deal with "all the little bits" that might be left over from when I started, back in 2013.
Social Media Musings:
All I managed was a small update on twitter/X... but it's better than nothing at all.
Final Thoughts for Today:
My cotton-woollery feeling from a couple of days ago continues. I had really hoped to get a lot more done today, but just really struggled to stay focused on anything.
In a sense, I'm a little disappointed in myself, and in the rather slow start I'm getting with this challenge.
That said, I'm going to keep to my original intention of "no judgments"
