After 4 years of silence, Justin Bieber made his return with his seventh studio album: SWAG, released on July 11, 2025. The curious (and somewhat chaotic) thing was that this release didn’t have the typical promotion: there wasn’t that chain of 3 or more singles that get you hyped for the album, nor were there intense marketing campaigns (even as a fan, it caught me off guard😅). In fact, even after its release, the promotion was minimal. Neither Justin nor his team promoted it, which surprised many.
This new project feels like a change in concept. To be honest, Bieber has always been tied to ultra-commercial pop, the kind that skyrocketed him to fame with hits like “Baby.” But SWAG steps away from that formula. It’s still pop, yes, but a less “plastic” pop, with a strong presence of smooth R&B, folk, and sonic references that transport you back to the 90s and early 2000s.🎶
Though, from my point of view👀, it doesn’t stray far from his CHANGES album, at least when it comes to melodies.
The name SWAG
This term had its moment of popularity among young people and artists; in fact, it became popular within hip-hop and urban culture to describe someone with a unique style and confidence.
Justin, when he started in the music industry, used this word all the time whenever he could😅—in interviews, social media, even in his songs—making it a central element of his image during those early years. However, over time, he distanced himself from the word and even said it was “out of fashion.”
Naming the album SWAG now feels like he’s rescuing that youthful essence but from a more “reflective and mature” perspective.

- All I Can Take🎶
This is the opening track. In my opinion, it has a clear, very clear similarity to Michael Jackson’s style and could easily fit into 80s R&B, being alternative and experimental. It talks about feeling misunderstood and finding refuge in intimacy, mentioning “symptoms of sensitivity.”
- Daisies🎶
Personally, this is the song I liked the most. This is where Pop comes back in, but it’s an alternative pop with simple instrumentation. The lyrics revolve around his relationship with his wife, insecurities, and the challenges they’ve faced as a couple.
- Walking Away🎶
I’d classify it mainly as R&B/Pop. The lyrics are a declaration of unbreakable commitment (though let’s see if real life agrees, lol😂). Despite the challenges and difficulties in a relationship, he states that he won’t give up or “walk away” from his partner. And the title is ironic because it’s called “Walking Away,” but the song is precisely about not doing so.
Do I recommend listening to the entire album?
If you’ve been a fan of his since the beginning or if you’re one of those people who loves and supports absolutely everything he does, then yes. You’ll understand JB reinventing himself and becoming more grown-up in the music industry.
Now, if you’re just looking for guaranteed hits, it’s better to listen to the 4 songs with the most streams. Because I must admit, the album can become boring and repetitive if you listen to it all and you don’t have that “fan patience.”
In conclusion, SWAG is not an album of instant hits; it’s more like a “sound diary.” Sometimes it shines, other times it gets lost. But at least, it’s Justin being Justin.✨

Después de cuatro años de silencio discográfico, Justin Bieber volvió a hacer acto de presencia con su séptimo álbum de estudio: SWAG, lanzado el 11 de julio de 2025. Lo curioso (y algo caótico) fue que este lanzamiento no tuvo la promoción típica: no hubo esa cadena de 3 o más sencillos que te preparan para el álbum, ni campañas intensas (incluso yo como fan de él, me tomó por sorpresa😅). De hecho, hasta después de su lanzamiento, la promoción fue escasa. Ni Justin ni su equipo hicieron promoción, lo cual sorprendió a muchos.
Este nuevo proyecto se percibe como un cambio de concepto. Siendo honestos, Bieber siempre ha estado ligado al pop ultra comercial, ese que lo catapultó a la fama con hits como "Baby". Pero SWAG se aleja de esa fórmula. Sigue siendo pop, sí, pero un pop menos plastificado, con fuerte presencia de R&B suave, folk y referencias sonoras que te transportan a los 90 y principios de los 2000.🎶
Aunque, desde mi punto de vista👀, no se aleja mucho de su álbum Changes, al menos en cuanto a melodías.
El nombre del Album: SWAG
Este término tuvo su tiempo de popularidad entre los jóvenes y artistas, de hecho, se popularizó dentro de la cultura hip-hop y urbana para describir a alguien con estilo único y confianza.
Justin, cuando inicio en la industria musical solía usar muchísimo esta palabra para todo siempre que podía😅, en entrevistas, redes, y hasta en sus canciones, convirtiéndose en un elemento central de su imagen durante esos primeros años. Sin embargo, con el tiempo, se alejó de la palabra y llegó a decir que estaba "pasada de moda".
Que ahora el álbum se llame SWAG es como si estuviera rescatando esa esencia juvenil, pero desde una perspectiva más “reflexiva y adulta”.

Es la canción de apertura. Esta, a mi parecer, tiene una clara, pero clara similitud con el estilo de Michael Jackson y podría entrar en el R&B de los años 80, siendo alternativo y experimental. La cual habla sobre sentirse incomprendido y encontrar refugio en la intimidad. Mencionando “síntomas de sensibilidad”
- Daisies.🎶
Personalmente, esta es la canción que más me gustó. Es donde entra nuevamente el Pop, pero se trata de uno alternativo con una instrumentación sencilla. La letra gira en torno a la relación con su esposa, las inseguridades y los desafíos que han enfrentado como pareja.
- Walking away.🎶
Podría catalogarla principalmente como R&B/Pop. La letra es una declaración de compromiso inquebrantable (aunque ya veremos si la vida real opina lo mismo, jsjsj😂). A pesar de los desafíos y las dificultades en una relación, afirma que no se rendirá ni "se alejará" de su pareja. Y su título es una ironía, pues, se llama “Walking Away” (alejarse), pero la canción habla precisamente de no hacerlo.
¿Recomiendo escucharlo completo?
Si eres fan de él desde sus inicios o simplemente de esos que aman y apoyan absolutamente todo lo que hace, sí. Pues, logras entender a JB reinventándose y convertirse más adulto en la industria musical.
Ahora, si lo que buscas es simplemente hits garantizados, lo mejor es solo escuchar las 4 canciones que tengan más reproducciones. Porque, debo admitir que es cierto que el álbum se puede convertir en algo aburrido y repetitivo si se escucha completo y no se tiene esa “paciencia de fan.”
En conclusión, SWAG no es un disco de éxitos instantáneos, es más un “diario sonoro”. A veces brilla, otras veces se pierde. Pero al menos, es Justin siendo Justin✨.
