Although this time the budget wasn't the best, we learned that sometimes the best details come wrapped in simplicity. I learned that when I saw my mom and dad's super happy faces as they enjoyed a delicious homemade tres leches cake, which my husband and I had made the day before with a lot of love.
After a nice meal and a beautiful day with the family, that dessert sweetened a good simple moment, but still a happy one.
