El sábado pasado mi pequeña sobrina Amaya vivió un día doblemente especial: sus primeros 6 meses y su bautizo. La ceremonia se celebró en la catedral de la ciudad y fue un evento que se sintió íntimo y familiar debido a la poca cantidad de invitados presentes.
Last Saturday my little niece Amaya experienced a doubly special day: her first 6 months and her baptism. The ceremony was held in the city's cathedral and was an event that felt intimate and familiar due to the small number of guests present.
Nuestra familia es pequeña pero unida, tanto por parte de mi hermana como por la de su esposo y se ha unido aún más desde la llegada de Amaya, la organización del evento fue una labor conjunta entre ambas familias y la emoción por la llegada de ese día era evidente para todos.
Our family is small but united, both on my sister's side and on her husband's side, and it has become even more united since Amaya's arrival. The organization of the event was a joint effort between both families and the excitement for the arrival of that day was evident to everyone.
El bautizo se realizó a las 3 de la tarde, la iglesia estaba completamente vacía y por un momento, parecía que la catedral entera era solo para nosotros. Amaya se comportó muy tranquila durante la mayor parte de la ceremonia, mostrando cierta timidez al principio, pero manteniendo una actitud calmada, sin embargo, cuando llegó el momento de mojar su cabeza con agua bendita, rompió en llanto, la sorpresa nos invadió a todos ya que después de ese momento no paró de llorar en ningún momento, a pesar de las lágrimas logré capturar algunas fotos hermosas que espero mostrarle cuando sea mayor y poder contarle con cariño este día tan especial en el que oficialmente se convirtió en parte de la fe católica.
The baptism took place at 3 in the afternoon, the church was completely empty and for a moment, it seemed that the entire cathedral was just for us. Amaya behaved very calmly during most of the ceremony, showing some shyness at first, but maintaining a calm attitude, however, when the time came to wet her head with holy water, she burst into tears, surprise overcame us all. Since after that moment he did not stop crying at any time, despite the tears I managed to capture some beautiful photos that I hope to show him when he is older and to be able to tell him with love about this special day in which he officially became part of the faith.
