Desde mi adolescencia la barba ha sido un elemento característico de mi identidad, un estilo que me define y me hace sentir cómodo, de hecho, afeitarme es una práctica poco habitual, ya que lo hago no más de seis veces al año.
Since my adolescence, the beard has been a characteristic element of my identity, a style that defines me and makes me feel comfortable. In fact, shaving is an unusual practice, since I do it no more than six times a year.
Con motivo de mi cumpleaños número 30 decidí dar un giro radical a mi imagen, debo admitir que dejar atrás la barba frondosa y el cabello un poco largo no fue una decisión fácil, pues me he acostumbrado a verme así en el espejo y en realidad me gusta, sin embargo, el día anterior a mi cumpleaños después de pensarlo un par de días tomé la decisión de hacerlo.
On the occasion of my 30th birthday I decided to give a radical change to my image, I must admit that leaving behind the lush beard and slightly long hair was not an easy decision, because I have become accustomed to seeing myself like this in the mirror and in reality I I like it, however, the day before my birthday, after thinking about it for a couple of days, I made the decision to do it.
Acudí a la barbería y pedí un corte de cabello corto aunque no tan corto solo lo suficiente para marcar un cambio visible, al llegar a casa me afeité por completo la barba y el resultado me sorprendió, mi aspecto era radicalmente diferente, me sentí un poco extraño, pues no estaba acostumbrado a verme sin barba ni con el cabello tan corto.
I went to the barbershop and asked for a short haircut, although not so short, just enough to mark a visible change, when I got home I shaved my beard completely and the result surprised me, my appearance was radically different, I felt a little strange, because I was not used to seeing myself without a beard or with such short hair.
A pesar de la incomodidad inicial debo admitir que el cambio me hace parecer más joven, me hace recordar un poco a como me veía a mis 20 años. Sé que me llevará algo de tiempo acostumbrarme a este nuevo look pero debo confesar que solo es cuestión de tiempo para que deje de afeitarme nuevamente y todo vuelva a la normalidad.
Despite the initial discomfort, I must admit that the change makes me look younger, it reminds me a little of how I looked when I was 20 years old. I know it will take me some time to get used to this new look but I must confess that it is only a matter of time before I stop shaving again and everything goes back to normal.
