Hola, buenos días a todos. Esta semana los corredores celebran su día con muchos eventos y competencias en honor a este deporte que cada día cobra más seguidores en esta zona. En mis tiempos de jovencita, los deportes que más se practicaban en mi entorno, eran el fútbol, el béisbol y el voleibol, incluso a nivel escolar.
Pero el running tomó fuerza hasta el punto de tener entre nosotros, una lista muy extensa de clubes de runners y de corredores independientes. He podido apreciar esa numerología gracias a mi participación en las carreras más nombradas de la ciudad, y es asombroso el poder de convocatoria que puede tener esta disciplina deportiva.
El día del corredor se celebra el primer miércoles del mes de junio, debido a una iniciativa que se dio en Estados Unidos de incentivar el ejercicio físico. De esta manera, el primer miércoles de junio de 2009 se realizó un evento donde asistieron y corrieron muchísimas personas y de ahí se siguió fomentando esta disciplina cada año. Hoy en día, me encuentro en medio de un maravilloso mundo de corredores aunque yo no desarrolle abiertamente esta disciplina. Me encanta verlos en acción, apoyarlos, y aún más, celebrar sus triunfos. Por supuesto, mi corredora favorita es mi hija que lleva muchos años activa como corredora, y a quien felicito doblemente por llevarse esta semana el 1° lugar en la categoría Master de la Competencia Neon Music Run, que se realizó en Lechería, estado Anzoátegui. Felicidades campeona.

Today, I find myself in the midst of a wonderful world of runners even though I do not openly develop this discipline. I love to see them in action, to support them, and even more, to celebrate their triumphs. Of course, my favorite runner is my daughter, who has been active as a runner for many years, and whom I congratulate doubly for taking 1st place this week in the Master category of the Neon Music Run Competition, which was held in Lechería, Anzoátegui state.
