Hi thebighigg, did you know that Dantzig is almost unknown here in Italy? Very few people know about him. Yet he was an incredible mathematician. The simplex method might seem complicated, but the incredible thing is that solving this exercise without the simplex method is extremely difficult. The other great thing is that applying the simplex method to a linear problem produces a perfect solution. So not only does the method dramatically simplify the calculations, but it always gives the user the best possible solution; it never fails.
