RE: 25-12-2025-Industrial Logistics-Warehouses and Average Distance [EN]-[IT]

in Olio di Balena4 months ago

Hi Sammy, there are so many things to learn in the world.
In this post I talk about the average distance traveled inside a warehouse.
In industrial warehouses, the average distance is the average distance that an operator or a handling vehicle (forklift, pallet truck, AGV) travels to complete a logistics mission (picking, storage, picking).
The average distance is used to estimate collection and productivity times. From this we understand that the study of the average distance can make the warehouse itself more efficient and save costs.
The average mileage, mathematically, is usually expressed as follows:

where:
r = average mileage
di = distance of the single cycle
n = number of missions
