Cholera is an infectious disease caused by a toxin produced by a bacterium. From what I know, if the disease is not treated, it is fatal in over 50% of cases. I suppose that in Carnot's time, in the early 1800s, the disease was not treated in the best way. Unfortunately, Carnot died very young, at only 36 years old. He is responsible for very important contributions to theoretical thermodynamics. !STRIDE
