GRAB
Grab Holdings has been showing impressive growth in recent years.
The "Super App" of Southeast Asia is steadily improving across all three segments.
Mobility: +19%
Delivery: +14%
Financial Services: +36%
And not only that — it’s becoming increasingly profitable, showing significant operating leverage
It's no wonder they call it the Uber of Southeast Asia, and quite justifiably Uber decided to invest in Grab
The similarity in fundamentals is obvious.
FIGMA
IPOs have been on fire lately.
Recently, Figma, a rival of Adobe , filed for an IPO and has caught the attention of many investors.
Let me remind you that Adobe tried to acquire Figma in 2023 for $20 billion, but the deal fell through due to regulatory issues in the UK.
And just like that, Figma managed to pocket $1 billion from Adobe due to the failed deal.
Now, in 2024, Figma generated $181 million in free cash flow — exactly what Adobe makes in a week.
Should Adobe investors be worried?
Based on fundamentals, Adobe's stock seems very attractive at current prices
Unless, of course, it gets disrupted by AI in the future. That’s the big question.
JP MORGAN
JP Morgan announced last week that it will increase its dividend by 7%, from $1.4 to $1.5 per share, after passing the Fed's stress test .
In addition to the dividend hike, they also announced a $50 billion share buyback program.
The dividend is well-supported by earnings, with a payout ratio below 25%.
As for the buybacks, I definitely prefer them over dividends. However, I believe management could have timed them better, valuation-wise.
Regardless, this is the largest buyback in the company’s history.
THE DOLLAR
The dollar has seen one of its sharpest drops since the start of the year, down -10.7%
We haven’t seen such a steep decline since 1973.
The EUR/USD exchange rate has risen +14% since the beginning of the year .
This means we can buy 14% more U.S. assets with the same euros.
Historically speaking, it’s completely normal for the dollar to fluctuate .
So, by DCA-ing into $VUAA, we’re also DCA-ing into the value of the dollar.
This is a great opportunity for everyone in Europe to buy cheaper — one that, as we can see, doesn’t come around often.
