Hello, Hivers! This is my first time posting here, and I am so happy and excited to share with you what I've discovered. Over the last few days, I've been playing games in my spare time. I was curious about the racing games, and I guess they seem easy and fun.
The first thing I did was sign in to my Hive keychain on my laptop and open the Arcade Colony through Google Chrome. After signing in, I used my Hive account to access it. I used Google Chrome to access my Hive keychain to purchase my first karts and driver, using Hive as my payment method. I only had HBD in my account, so I swapped it for Hive to make my purchases. I used Ecency to swap from HBD to Hive because it doesn't have any fees.
After that, I made my first purchase in the market. Initially, I didn't know how everything worked, so I bought 1,000 points to play. Below is my first purchase, and I am so excited to be buying my first NFTs!
First, I needed a kart and a driver to race, so I chose the least expensive options available. I picked LUNA, a short-haired girl, because I love her name. Next, I needed to buy an AstroKart to complete my setup. The total for both purchases was 450. I didn't get any power-ups or upgrades yet because I wanted to test how the kart performs first. After that, I was ready for my first race.
During my first game, I noticed that the acceleration button seemed to require too much time to respond. The speed was decent, but when I pressed the left or right buttons, my kart didn’t steer properly, and I kept hitting the side rails. I had to repeatedly hit the Y button to reset my position and then accelerate again. I’m not sure if it’s me or my laptop. While I know how to play, I’m still getting used to the controls on my keyboard. This experience has been quite frustrating as I couldn't even complete picking all the COLONY on the race track.
In the end, I completed the first lap and still won, but it took me a long time to reach the first lap.
Despite these challenges, I really enjoy the game; it's easy and fun to play with others. I realize that I need to upgrade my kart and driver for smoother racing and practice more to improve my gameplay. I remind myself that I am still a newbie when it comes to racing games—all I'm familiar with so far is Candy Crush! Hahaha.
This is it, and see you in my next blog! Have a great day!
