Personally, I would have chosen to sell my CL cards immediately they get rotated out of modern, but I feel that I earn with them when I participate in Guild battles. So, I have no choice but to leave them and keep using them to compete.
Surely their price value will drop immediately they're rotated out, but it's better to watch and see how it unfolds. You have a decent strategy

        The most logical choice should be to sell but like you I decided to keep the Choas Legion cards and you are right in Guild battles they will always be useful
