RE: Trump Is Dismantling His Own Tariffs

in Olio di Balena8 days ago

In my honest opinion, Trump will continue to change course since much he wanted to achieve with previous directions went against general economic rules/laws. Amongst others, tariffs are no good in mid to long term, the society will pay the bill. Perhaps US is powerful, but unfortunately for Trump and all US citizens, it isn't powerful enough to 'blackmail' other societies, countries into doing whatever mister T wants; whomever to do what he wants them to do.

China is powerful, perhaps even more powerful than many expected... since... yeah, they not only sit on many minerals needed for electronic and chemical products, but they are also 'monopoly' on many physical products through their manufacturing capabilities and capacity. Unless US workers 'vote' for a substantial pay cut, production in China and other Asian countries is so much cheaper and will win over produced-in-the-USA.

Companies are not easily pushed in moving their factories to the USA, since in a few years, mister T will not be in office anymore and the economic laws maybe rewritten again. I believe it'll be better for the USA when mister T will stop leading the country, and for him to focus on writing a book or something, creating this imaginary perfect society on paper. On paper anything goes. In reality, many external forces are at play which are not easy to take control over.

Yes China is extremely powerful and the whole world starting to realise it . Of course China needs the US to consume that cannot replace how they consume ! The problem is that Trump is attacking everyone !

True on the ‘everyone’ and being a problem. Saddening.
