First of all, I would like to say Happy New Year 2025 to you all!!! wherever you are, let's hope 2025 will be a better year than 2024.
As usual like every year, we always start new year with having a Hive Power Up Day (HPUD). The essence of HPUD is all of us together doing a power up (Staking HIVE) as our join participation in pushing up HIVE engagement all over the blockchain.
Having higher Hive Power (HP) means you have a better standing in this blockchain. You will increase your influence on the blockchain by having higher votes on content, proposals and witnesses support.
So How About My HPUD Today
I do not have enough liquid $HIVE so I have decided to sell some of my $HBD to get enough Hive Power Up for today. It's you want to join HPUD, atlest you need to do 10 HIVE POWER UP.

New Year Custom
I live with my elderly parents who have aged more than 7 decades. So I still do some traditional custom together with them, and going out having some fireworks is not part of it.
One of old things we still do is to have some traditional meals as part of new year ceremonial custom. Let me share you one of them
New Year Soba
The first one is new year soba. People call this as Toshikoshi Soba. It is a soba (some people now change it to ramen and udon), any kind of soba can be use. If you confuse, lets make this simple, It is any kind of noodle you eat during New Year Eve
Eating noodle on New Year Eve is a symbol of cutting off the bad luck and misfortunates we have from the past year. Noodle is easily cut, so by chewing or cutting noodles, we use that as if we are cutting our current hardship from those misfortunates we have in the this year.
Some Japanese and Chinese also take eating noodles as a symbol of longevity. So Eating noodles also symbolize longetivity and a fresh start.
New Year Omochi
If I am right, people call this as Kagami Mochi. It is an omochi (rice cake) which usually placed on the household altar to honor spirits and Gods. These Omochi are symbol of prosperous and peaceful year ahead.
Actually Kagami Mochi is not like the picture above. They should be a pair of rounded mochi which the smaller one is placed on top the bigger one. Well I do not follow the custom correctly, what I want is to have a delicious pair of mochi.
So this one suffice that need LoL
OSECHI
Almost every year our family is having Osechi during new year, however this new year is one of the day we don't have it. Osechi is presented in some big box with various things inside. Usually they set 9 kind of food there.
Osechi is an expensive merchandise here, I do not wish to make a hole in my wallet during these days. So I have let my family know in advance that We won't have it today.
My 2025 Resolution
This time I will be different with what I have written before about new year resolution. I won't be saying about what my resolution is on HIVE. In fact I will reduce the time I use on HIVE.
My resolution is about what I want to do with my life. I have been 4 years alone living with my parents, exactly since Covid 19 outbreak. We are not a rich family, we were before, but not anymore. So if you live in South East Asia, when you run out of money then you are a legit true beggar. Our tax percentage is no less than the other well developed countries but our government can not take care elderly due to not having proper fund.
So my 2025 resolution is simple. I will start going outside, start socializing and meet up with new people and maybe start a new career. Since my engagement was broken in 2021, I haven't meet up with anyone new too, it's just I don't have anymore time for any social activity.
Some of my friends have started nagging me over this thing, they are afraid I have become more and more like a true Hikikomori. I can understand how they think like that. I work more than 100 hours a week, right now I work for 4 companies. I talk to people mostly on whatsapp, discord and telegram. I do not meet up with new people in general, I only meet and talk to new people who are clients of my company.
Let's hope 2025 will be a good year, not only for me but for all of use.
