Automated systems are very important in producing more with less effort because it doesn't require human intervention. I read elsewhere that one of the earliest forms of automation is the assembly line, probably invented by Henry Ford. The only downside of automated systems is that it reduces employment opportunities, but it's advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
