We note that if the number of BIOTs takes very small values, the variation of θ tends to depend very little on ξ and, therefore, to depend only on τ. From this it follows that in these hypotheses the temperature does not depend on the particular point under observation inside the plate, but only on time. However the most important thing in this article is the introduction of the BIOT number which is the ratio between the conductive resistivity inside the plate and the convective resistivity outside the plate.
