Wow, what an education. I had not idea. The things I don't know, which is why I stay away from the stock market. This means, for me, that if I were to invest in an index fund, I would want that fund to be link to the S&P 500--less volatile? Less exposure to rising (and swiftly falling) stars? Less inclined to be sunk by the flavor of the month?
