How Do We Talk To God?

in The Kingdomlast month

Let's deal with this right now, shall we? How to pray.

When you talk to God, or should I say, when you pray to God. The Lord wants you to understand that when you are praying, you're talking to him.

We pray for usually three reasons. One, to commune with God, to be with him, to talk to him like friends, to maybe inquire something of him. You want to get an understanding on something, or just spend intimate time with him, because God loves to spend time with you.

The second reason we pray is to ask God for something. Do not be fooled when people say, oh, you never can ask God for nothing. The problem was, we go to God only when we want to ask for something and not outside of that inquiry.

We don't spend intimate time with him outside of just asking for something every five minutes. Or whenever things get rocky, but then you only talk to him when you need something. That's a problem. That's a problem with a normal relationship, and that's why some of y'all don't got no friends.
I love you, though. I got to tell you the truth.

So, the third reason that we pray is because we have to understand prayer intercepts the enemy's plan, hence the word and the name intercessor. You are intercepting the enemy's plans when you pray.

You're saying, you know what, devil? I don't like you, and I don't like how you treated me or my friend or my parent or my whatever.
So, I'm going to talk to God. And I'm going to snitch. And when I tell God, God's going to be like, all right, I see that they actually care about this person. Let me move and let me do them a favor because they love me, but they also love my people, right? That's intercession. That's you talking to God, praying, petitioning, communing with him, whatever, on behalf of somebody else or on behalf of a certain situation, right?

So, these are the three reasons why we pray. But long story short, prayer is your communication with God. And whatever way you use that communication, just make sure that you be respectful. He is the King of kings and Lord of all lords, but he's also your father and your friend. But just be you with respect.

I absolutely agree with you @debbyfranker, and I think many do not understand prayer to be a communion with God who is there father. And thus, they report case to him as if he is a police or a law enforcer
