Most of the coastline is harbor-like and has plenty of small water channels that take you small boats or gondolas into the city center. These canals can be found very often in the city, and even water taxis run there. Access to Venice from the mainland is also possible via the large Ponte della Libertà bridge, which connects the city with the mainland of Italy. This bridge leads to the Venezia Santa Lucia train station, which is the main communication center.
