Hey! Hope you’re doing great — let’s start with today's entry for the #monomad challenge
Lately I’ve been feeling the need to slow down a bit and look around more. When things get messy in my head, photography is the one thing that helps me breathe and focus again. These black and white moments came from a day where I didn’t expect much from myself. I just walked, observed and let whatever caught my eye guide me. Maybe that’s why these images feel a bit like me right now, a mix of calm, noise, softness, confusion and small things that somehow make sense together.
Últimamente siento que necesito bajar un poco el ritmo y mirar más a mi alrededor. Cuando tengo la cabeza hecha un lío, la fotografía es lo único que me ayuda a respirar y volver a centrarme. Estas fotos en blanco y negro salieron de un día en el que no esperaba nada de mí. Simplemente caminé, observé y dejé que lo que me llamara la atención me guiara. Quizá por eso estas imágenes se sienten un poco como yo ahora mismo, una mezcla de calma, ruido, suavidad, confusión y pequeñas cosas que, de alguna manera, encajan juntas.
Markets are overwhelming in the best way. Removing the color leaves only the structure, repetition and abundance. It’s surprising how strong a scene becomes when you strip it down.
Los mercados son abrumadores en el mejor sentido. Al quitar el color queda solo la estructura, la repetición y la abundancia. Sorprende lo fuerte que se vuelve una escena cuando la simplificas.
This window felt almost theatrical, like the light was performing. I tried to frame it so the shadows became part of the architecture.
Esta ventana se sentía casi teatral, como si la luz actuara. Intenté encuadrarla para que las sombras fueran parte de la arquitectura.
A simple silhouette. Clean, quiet, minimal. Sometimes less really is more.

These windows have a strong presence, and I liked how small my friend looked next to them. More a photo about scale and silence than anything else.
Estas ventanas tienen mucha presencia, y me gustó lo pequeño que quedaba mi amigo. Es más una foto de escala y silencio que otra cosa.
Rooftops always fascinate me. From above, a city becomes patterns, noise, geometry. A kind of honest chaos that looks completely different from street level.
Las azoteas siempre me fascinan. Desde arriba la ciudad se convierte en patrones, ruido, geometría. Un caos honesto que no se ve desde la calle.
I passed this entrance and something made me stop. Maybe the mix of plants, shadows, and that slightly mysterious aura. I wanted the photo to keep that feeling, like a story you only see the beginning of.
Pasé por esta entrada y algo me hizo parar. La mezcla de plantas, sombras y un aura un poco misteriosa. Quise que la foto mantuviera esa sensación, como una historia de la que solo ves el principio.
I’ve always found something calming about the way cacti grow. They look chaotic, but when you get closer there’s a kind of hidden rhythm. Here I wanted to capture that quiet tension between softness and spikes.
Siempre me ha calmado la forma en la que crecen los cactus. Parecen caóticos, pero de cerca tienen un ritmo escondido. Aquí quería plasmar esa tensión tranquila entre lo suave y lo punzante.
This garden felt like a world made of lines and textures. I didn’t think too much about what I was photographing, just followed the contrast. Black & white makes everything feel more dramatic, almost from another atmosphere.
Este jardín parecía un mundo de líneas y texturas. No pensé demasiado, simplemente seguí el contraste. En blanco y negro todo se vuelve más dramático, casi de otra atmósfera.
Another moment from the market. I liked how the shapes almost formed a sculpture. Not perfect, but alive.
Otro momento del mercado. Me gustó cómo las formas casi parecían una escultura. No perfecta, pero viva.
This was the result of experimenting. The blur wasn’t planned, but the ghostly feeling grew on me. Sometimes the accidents end up being the most interesting part.
Esto salió de experimentar. El desenfoque no estaba planeado, pero ese toque fantasma terminó gustándome. A veces los accidentes son lo más interesante.
