From the little lines and patterns in the wings to the textures and details across their bodies, these dragonflies always get my undivided interest. I find them to be one of the most fascinating creatures to photograph. When they are flying around at the height of the day, it can be incredibly hard to get one sitting still for very long. When its really hot, though, and its either early in the day or late in the afternoon, you can find them resting and not moving at all. Its a very striking difference in behavior and makes for some really amazing photo opportunities because you can have much more time to get up close with these magnificent creatures.
