If you've been following me for a while, you know that I typically use a white backdrop when I do studio photoshoots. But for this session, I finally changed the background color, and that's precisely what makes these photos special.
I recently acquired a new black backdrop for a photoshoot with this client because she needed a couple of photos with a black background.
Si me siguen desde hace un tiempo saben que normalmente cuando hago fotos en estudio utilizo una tela de color blanco y para esta sesion de fotos finalmente cambié el color del fondo y precisamente eso es lo que las hace especiales.
Recientemente adquirí una nueva tela de color negro para la sesion de fotos con esta chica porque ella necesitaba un par de fotos con fondo negro.
Working with a black background is completely different. I have to be incredibly careful about how I position the lights to ensure the background isn't "contaminated" with light. The goal is to keep the background totally black while the client is perfectly lit.
Trabajar con fondo negro es algo totalmente distinto, tengo que tener muchisimo cuidado en como posiciono las luces para que el fondo no quede "contaminado" de luz y poder tener el fondo totalmente negro mientras que la chica si está bien iluminada.
To add a bit more complexity, the client also wore black clothing. The first shot I took was a disaster; her clothes blended into the background, haha! After a few test shots, adjusting the lights, I finally found the correct position, and we were able to get the photos!
Y para añadir un poco mas de complejidad, la chica tambien utilizó una ropa de color negro. La primera foto que tomé fue un desastre, la ropa de la chica se perdia con el fondo jaja y despues de hacer un par de disparos moviendo las luces finalmente encontré la posicion correcta y pudimos hacer las fotos!
The client was always accompanied by her boyfriend, who was waiting for his turn to take some photos together. These photos were very beautiful, you could tell they felt very secure with each other and complemented one another.
La chica siempre estuvo acompañada por su novio, quien estaba esperando su turno para hacerse unas fotos juntos, estas fotos fueron muy bonitas, se notaba que se sentian muy seguros juntos y se complementaban el uno al otro.
The next two photos turned out really, really well, especially because they suggested that pose themselves:

And I'll end with this photo, which can almost be considered "behind the scenes" because I moved around a lot and pointed outside the set. However, we liked the photo so much that we kept it.
Y finalizo con esta foto que puede considerarse casi "como un detras de escenas" porque me moví mucho y me salí del set, sin embargo, la foto nos gustó tanto que la conservamos.
