This is my entry for #monomad challenge by @monochromes
Some days ago I went to walk in Dolomiti, with Tricesimo and Pavullo Alpine Club.
Dolomiti are wonderful mountains in north Italy, they are become UNESCO World Heritage.
The most popular mountains are in Trentino Alto Adige and Veneto regions, but not all people know you can find Dolomiti beauty also in Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in a place called Carnia: less people around, making them wilder and more magic.
Day was foggy and cloudy, and I prefer this climate instead of a uniform blue sky: atmosphere
is more mysterious, perfect for black&white, and you cover what you can't see with imagination!
Here we are around Monte Cridola (above) and 'Passo Scodavacca' (below), a surreal door towards the heart of this fascinating mountain kingdom:
The day after we walked on 'Costa Baton', watch how beautiful is that rock, it seemed a
profile of a man, waiting for the North army, as in Dino Buzzati novel, 'Il deserto dei Tartari'. Dino Buzzati was a painter and writer who loved Dolomiti.
Under Costa Baton, a magic wood caressed by sunrays:
and a shepherd with his flock of sheep:
Finally a morning view from low valley:
